The environment, technology and you can help a person living with dementia to find things, use the phone, call for help if needed, use entertainment devices, maintain leisure and social activities and observe electrical safety.

Stand alone devices to see include:

orientation and reminder support – automatic calendar clock (Jadco calendar clocks - 2 styles), diaries, noticeboard, orientation board, reminder wristwatch, mobile phone, glow in the dark guidance strips, item locators, Attainment voice cue, bill organiser, message centre, labelled photos, emergency numbers kept near phone
entertainment and reminiscence products – movies, music, games, digital photo frame, life history books, talking photo album, Petzz cat
simple appliances eg simple remote control, picture phone
24 hour timer
universal remote control
HF mega hear – hearing amplifier
supportive lighting, for example sensor and timed lighting

Connected technology includes

personal emergency response system - Personal Emergency Response System pendant worn throughout day – BCS CareCall
wireless smoke detector - Smoke detector with its battery changed every six months and vacuumed each month for dust
smoke detector is connected to alarm system
chair occupancy sensor
sensors can be programmed to alert call centre/family of movement in the home
