Advanced Technology Suggestions

Bogus Caller / Panic Button can be installed beside a doorway, generally at the front door. This product can be provided as part of a package of services via a Telecare service / call centre. If the home occupant becomes concerned about a caller or there is an emergency, they press the button which, in turn, alerts the call centre who will contact the home occupant to check that they are safe.

Automatic Gates can provide added security by reducing the number of unsolicited callers to your front door. Solar power, battery power, or mains electricity, are used to operate the gates with entry gained by intercom or video screening of callers. Both the driveway and entry gates can be protected using this technology.

Farm Based Security Technology - Security technology which has been developed for farms and remote properties can assist with monitoring. It uses sensors or cameras located at driveway entrances or in garages and sheds on the property. When a sensor is triggered by movement an alarm is activated and the alert can then be transmitted to a third party or carer who is away from the property. Alternatively, the alert can notify a carer or family member who is in another part of the home or property of any security or safety risks. There are multiple suppliers nationally and costs will vary with the complexity of the system.

A ‘Good Night Button’ which switches off all lights and locks doors can be programmed to operate from the automated system and is usually located beside the bed. Once the person is in bed all of the lights can be switched off and the doors locked. This switch system has the capacity to be operated remotely by an operator or relative, to ensure security for the home occupant.
