All glass doors should come with safety stickers to prevent anyone accidentally walking into them. To make the glass more obvious vinyl stickers which can be easily peeled off can be found at many department stores and toy stores. Alternatively, a strip of masking or electrical tape may be used. The stickers or tape should be more than 75mm wide and should be placed 90-100cm above the floor, for the full width of the glass.

Remove or cover all mirrors if looking at their reflection disturbs a person with dementia. If covering mirrors, care needs to be taken so as not to damage property.

It may be possible to replace the existing shower head with a hand held shower for the period of tenancy however it is suggested that permission be obtained prior to installation in rental accommodation.

Installing sheer net curtains to reduce glare and reflections may be a simple removable solution if there is an existing curtain rail in rental accommodation.
